Edakkal Caves
Natural fissure caves on Ambukuthi Mala, discovered in 1895 by British officer Fred Fawcett. The cave's fissure stretches 96 ft long, 22 ft wide and 30 ft deep — and contains over 400 Neolithic and Harappan-era pictographs dating back 7,000 years, among the oldest evidence of human habitation in South India. The steep 1.5 km trek rewards you with sweeping views across the Wayanad valleys.
